01 / Define
Agree the study conditions
Confirm the space, setpoint, loading condition, operating cycle and the questions the study needs to answer.
Temperature mapping
Spatial temperature surveying and time-dependent profiling show how a controlled enclosure behaves across its usable area and operating cycle.
From brief to report
The study is shaped around the enclosure, operating condition and evidence required. The agreed scope determines the measurement positions and time period.
01 / Define
Confirm the space, setpoint, loading condition, operating cycle and the questions the study needs to answer.
02 / Measure
Place suitable measuring equipment across the agreed locations and capture performance over the defined period.
03 / Report
Provide the agreed results and documentation so the customer can assess the enclosure against its own requirements.
Complete Mapping Protocol
For regulated, complex or higher-risk applications, Caltec can extend a mapping study into a project-specific qualification package. The method, logger positions, operating challenges and acceptance criteria are agreed before the study begins.
Discuss the complete protocol A complete protocol does not automatically make a study UKAS-accredited. Accredited status is confirmed separately against Caltec laboratory 8980's current published schedule.A controlled, application-specific plan for approval before deployment.
Documented placement rationale, logger maps and logger identification records.
Normal operation plus agreed door-opening, power-off, holdover or recovery assessments.
Site or equipment checks, operating observations, event logs and deviation records.
Temperature profiles, hot and cold locations, excursions, recovery and conclusions.
Final report, summary, logger records and relevant calibration evidence in one structured package.
UKAS calibration laboratory 8980
Caltec's published UKAS schedule includes temperature mapping of specified temperature-controlled enclosures at customer sites. Accredited status is confirmed only after the exact application, range and conditions have been reviewed against the current schedule.

Examples listed in the published schedule include incubators, ovens, fridges, freezers, environmental cabinets, enclosures and liquid baths. Suitability and accredited scope are checked before work is agreed.
Preparing a mapping enquiry
A few practical details help us plan the study and check whether it falls within the published accredited capability.
Temperature mapping enquiry
Send the enclosure details, operating setpoint and study conditions. We’ll review the application, accredited scope and practical plan before quoting.
